David Bowles‘ The Smoking Mirror, published by IFWG in 2015, has just received an Author Honor in the ALA Belpré Awards. There were only two honors, beside the winner, which is a great achievement for David, as well as a significant nod to the publisher.

The Pura Belpré Award is presented to a Latino or Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays the Latino cultural experience in a work of literature for children or youth. It was established in 1996 through the American Library Association.

We congratulate David Bowles for an inspiring achievement and thank him for teaming with our publishing company. We are also looking forward to publishing the next book in The Garza Twins series, The Kingdom Beneath the Waves, in April 2016.
