Over here in IFWG Publishing we’ve been waiting a long time to read Larry Ivkovich‘s final instalment of his ‘The Spirit Winds Quartet’, Return of the Luminous One. What a journey, what a delectable mash of time travelling, fantasy, mythologies, Japanese feudalism, and so much more. All tied together with the amazing protagonist, Kim Yoshima.
Great cover work, continuing from books 1 to 4, by Elizabeth Lang.
We are pleased to announce that Return of the Luminous One will be released on November 15, 2019. Preorder arrangements will be announced soon. Continue reading →
One of the enjoyable series that IFWG International publishes, is the Dillon the Monster Dick series by Canadian writer, Shaun Meeks. His series is a unique blend of horror, weird, detective noir and Dr Who (if you can believe it – believe it and buy them and see).
We previously published two books, The Gate at Lake Drive and Earthbound and Down, and fans of the series look forward to the next instalment, Altered Gate, scheduled for release in August 2018. We are pleased to have signed this book with Shaun.
Shaun Meeks lives in Toronto, Ontario with his partner, Mina LaFleur, where they own and operate their own corset company L’Atelier de LaFleur. Shaun is the author of The Dillon the Monster Dick series (Earthbound and Down and The Gate at Lake Drive), as well as Maymon, Shutdown and Down on the Farm. He has published more than 50 short stories; the most recent appearing in The Best of the Horror Zine, Midian Unmade: Tales of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed, Dark Moon Digest, Rouge Nation, Shrieks and Shivers from The Horror Zine, Zippered Flesh 2, Of Devils & Deviants and Fresh Fear. His short stories have been collected in At the Gates of Madness, Dark Reaches and Brother’s Ilk (with James Meeks).
IFWG Publishing has been fortunate to have published a number of books by Florida-based Louis K Lowy, and we’re always pleasantly surprised by the variety of styles and subject matter that he comes up with. Acquiring the rights to his latest novel, The Second Life of Eddie Coyne was a no brainer – an amazing story of a dying gambler who takes on a bet for the ultimate prize—a chance to save his soul. Fans of Lowy will love it; anyone who loves thoughtful, imaginative speculative fiction will adore it.
We are scheduling its release for October 2018.
Louis K. Lowy is a former firefighter with the city of Hialeah, Florida. He is the author of three books published by IFWG Publishing International: Die Laughing, a humorously dark science fiction adventure set in the 1950s, Pedal, an inspirational tale of a 49-year-old music teacher who loses her job and struggles to reclaim her life through bicycle racing, and To Dream (Book 1 in the Anatomy of a Humachine series), a science fiction tour de force spanning two centuries and crossing two planets.
Lowy is the recipient of a State of Florida Individual Artist Fellowship and an alumnus of Florida International University’s creative writing program. He lives in South Florida with his wife, Carol, and their daughter, Katie. Their son, Chris, resides on the west coast.
David Bowles‘ Garza Twins series is an outstanding set of middle grade novels, set in our world where the mythology of central America is all too real. The protagonists – the shapeshifting twins Carol and Johnny – are Mexican-American, filling a much needed diversity gap in young teen reading. The first book of the series, The Smoking Mirror, won the prestigious ALA Belpré Honor, and is IFWG’s best selling book. Book 2, A Kingdom Beneath the Waves, has also received critical acclaim.
Next year we will be publishing Book 3, The Hidden City. We felt David’s many fans deserve a preview of this novel, so we have Chapter One reproduced below. We will soon reveal the cover.
“Okay, guys, that was my mom.” Carol leaned toward her monitor with a sad smile. “Time for bed, I guess.”
“What?” Jessica demanded from the Skype screen. “Dude, tomorrow is the last day of classes!”
“Exacto,” Itza agreed. “Piensa, güey—we’re not going to be at the same school anymore! Can’t she give you a little more time?”
Carol glanced at the little box where Nikki’s face stared out at her. The girl said nothing, but there was sadness all over her features.
IFWG Publishing is excited to announce the signing up of The Gate at Lake Drive, by Shaun Meeks. “This is a very important acquisition for IFWG Publishing, as we have been looking for a quality horror novel for some time, and this signing represents our first,” stated Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG Publishing.
This title will be released in 2015. Stay tuned for more information in coming months.

We are excited by the science fiction adventure novel, set in the Pacific Islands, The Pouakai, coming out in just a matter of a week or two. David Sperry knows the islands, as he lives in Hawaii, and is well travelled (being an airline pilot helps there). He also knows how to spin a yarn. Here’s the back cover blurb:
When pilot Mark Boone is attacked by an aggressive new species while flying across the Pacific, he is forced to crash land on a remote tropical island. Working to save those in his care, he learns what life alongside these creatures entails. The Pouakai’s expansion into Hawaii makes their invasion personal and Boonie must find out the truth about what they want and where they come from. Accompanying an expedition deep into the equatorial home of these destructive organisms, he knows time is running out. If his mission fails, human life on earth may never recover.
Sounds good? Steven Spielbergish. Michael Crichtonish.
Also, we have Jeffery Doherty on loan from IFWG Publishing Australia doing the cover – and what we have seen so far is spectacular!.
