News: New Release – A Planet’s Search for History by MF Bnrbaugh

APSH v2b Cover_rgp

MF Burbaugh is one of IFWG’s earliest authors, and he is a prolific writer indeed. What astonishes us is that, despite the speed in which he writes novels, they are always entertaining pieces, with a great deal of action and interesting characters. A Planet’s Search for History is one such title and has now been released.

Elizabeth Lang’s evocative cover is perfectly suited to the novel because the high and precipitous mountain that is about to be scaled by the protagonists, is the opening scene, and is at the centre of much of the storyline.

The following is the story’s blurb:

Ever wonder where you came from? Where it all started?

This is the account of four people who start out looking for their ancient past, one of several groups funded by a wealthy politician. They must climb a frozen mountain and hunt for a place called Castle Gods-Cut. ‘Cut’ was thought to have once meant ‘origin’.

What they find is a single door blocked by ice that leads to a huge complex of caves and doors, some deadly, some leading to places that can’t possibly exist anywhere on their planet.

With the help of a rescued A.I. that thinks she should look like one of an ancient race called humans, events develop that may determine if humanoids of any kind shall be allowed to exist in the galaxy, as they encounter a race of aliens that love people. For snack food that is.

News: Dragon Hunter, chap-ebook by MF Burbaugh

Every once in a while IFWG Publishing chooses to publish in ebook format only, a short work by one of its authors. It may be set in the world created in larger work, or it might simply be stand alone. We support our authors and enjoy these ‘mini breaks’.

Today we have released MF Burbaugh’s mature piece, Dragon Hunter, a short story that’s gritty indeed.

A noted historian receives a package and stumbles on a tale from the age of Dragons.

So begins the story of David, the Dragon Hunter.

On the surface it tells of David and his companions’ exploits, but more than anything else, it depicts the grittiness and courage needed to hunt drakes. These warriors live their lives to the fullest, one day at a time.

This chap-ebook will be available from all good online stores over coming days, but can be purchased immediately from our chap-ebook store.

News: New Cover for Circle of Seven

As part of our internal improvement program, IFWG Publishing has rereleased one of its early fantasy fiction titles: Circle of Seven by MF Burbaugh. The key change was improving its cover – Elizabeth Lang, of EL Design, has done a great job capturing one of the exciting scenes of the novel, and portraying the youth and power of the very young female protagonist.

Circle of Seven reboot front cover

Circle of Seven is a delightful story, and don’t be fooled thinking this is a novel for children or young adults. It isn’t, although young adults would no doubt enjoy it. The protagonist is a child but she is caught up in some of the horrors of life, and the politics and war on a fantastical planet. It starts as a science fiction, but it quickly, inexorably transforms into a heroic fantasy. This is a unique tale, and worth reading.

The storyline reads:

After being kidnapped by pirates, a young earth girl, Myra, finds herself on a strange planet full of magic, hate, and ancient prophesies. Befriended by a Dwarf Princess, she struggles to understand her environment or die.

War looms on the horizon as Elves, Dwarfs, Dragons, and others face the reality of an ancient judgment to come.

This is the story of pirates, death, war, magic, and ancient prophesies. Myra may hold the key to their planet’s destiny in her tiny hands as she struggles to fulfill the ancient writings and stay alive.

Circle of Seven will be out in its new form in a few days, and can be purchased from all good online book stores, print and ebook formats. It can also be purchased now through IFWG’s bookstores: PRINT and EBOOK.
