Slights by Kaaron Warren is part of IFWG’s ‘Uncaching the Treasures‘ campaign, and it is the only reprint in the event’s catalogue. IFWG has a long and fruitful relationship with Warren, beginning with the multi-award-winning The Grief Hole, and followed up by her collection, The Gate Theory. Apart from new Warren titles coming out in the next 12 months, IFWG jumped at the chance of buying the rights to some of Warren’s back catalogue, and in particular titles that have been inaccessible for some time. Slights is the first of several such titles, and we are pleased to see the print version releasing world-wide this month.
A few events have already taken place with respect to Slights, including an insightful podcast interview of Warren by Jason Henderson of Castle of Horror, and a blog interview by Maureen Flynn.
When Stevie Searle almost dies in the accident that kills her mother, she doesn’t see a shining path or a golden light.
Instead, she sees everyone she’s ever slighted, waiting to take a piece of her in a cold, dark room. The person whose place she took in the queue, the schoolmate she cheated off, the bus driver she didn’t pay? All waiting. All wanting to take their revenge when she finally crosses over.
Stevie is fascinated by the dark room so she sends herself there again.
And again.
And Again.
Slights is now available worldwide through all good bricks and mortar and online stores, print and ebook.
