IFWG is very pleased to announce the acquisition of a novel by Leanbh Pearson titled The Ghost Warrior. “We were very impressed with Pearson’s manuscript,” said Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG, “and in particular the blending of fantasy with a number of contemporary themes.”

When gifted with extraordinary powers by a ghost warrior, Wolf-heart becomes embroiled in the dealings of the gods as their chosen shaman to battle White-owl, a vengeful dark sorcerer who is continuing to grow in power and must be defeated by Wolf-heart and his companions before the Land is destroyed and all who rely on it – gods and mortals alike. The Ghost Warrior explores dark fantasy, climate fiction, queer and disability fiction, love and loss, feminist themes, societal issues and prejudices in a unique secondary fantasy world. 

This title will be released world-wide in the second quarter of 2025.

Leanbh Pearson lives on Ngunnawal Country in Canberra, Australia. An LGBTQI dark fiction author, inspired by folklore, archaeology and the environment, her fiction features in numerous anthologies. She has judged the Australian Shadows Awards and Aurealis Awards, is a recipient of an AHWA mentorship and a convention panellist. When not writing, she enjoys exploring the Australian wilderness accompanied by her dogs (the canine assistants). Leanbh’s alter-ego is an academic in archaeology, evolution and prehistory.
