IFWG is very happy to announce the global release of Richard Harland’s final book in his young adult Ferren Trilogy, Ferren and the Invaders of Heaven. “This has been a pleasurable process,” said Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG, “where there was a lot of collaboration between Richard and myself and the broader IFWG team. The story ticks every box, which is something we all strove for, and we believe the Ferren Trilogy will be a classic, go-to set of books for young adults, and adults in general.”
We want to also acknowledge that this is the final book of a series, not just a launch of an individual work, and the visual continuity is beautifully represented by stunning artwork and design in all three books by Elena Betti. We are sad to see this collaboration end, but we are also proud of our achievements, anchored by Richard Harland’s riveting prose.
It’s happening!
The armies of the Earth are launching their long-awaited invasion of Heaven, and the battle to end all battles begins. The Humen have built a tower to scale the sky, and they’ve found a new commander to lead them.
He’s here!
The new commander wields secret knowledge and powers to which the angels have no answer. This is Heaven’s most terrible, most unexpected kind of enemy.
It’s time!
What will Ferren and the Residuals do now? Will they be the hunted or the hunters? Dare they go up to Heaven to fight the invaders?
First, they’ll need to resolve the infighting among themselves, and Ferren will need to resolve his own feelings between Zonda and Kiet. Meanwhile, Miriael has unfinished business with the beautiful angel she fell in love with…

Richard was born in Yorkshire, England, then migrated to Australia at the age of twenty-one. He was always trying to write, but could never finish the stories he began. Instead he drifted around as a singer, songwriter and poet, then became a university tutor and finally a university lecturer. But after twenty-five years of writer’s block, he finally finished the cult novel, The Vicar of Morbing Vyle.
When he contracted his next book to a major publisher, he immediately resigned his lectureship to follow his original dream. Since then, he’s produced seventeen books of fantasy, SF and horror/supernatural, ranging from Children’s to Young Adult to Adult. Best known inter- nationally for Worldshaker and its sequels, he’s won many awards in France and Australia.
He lives with partner Aileen near Wollongong, south of Sydney, between golden beaches and green escarpment. Walking Yogi the Labrador while listening to music is his favourite relaxation—when he’s not writing like a mad workaholic, catching up all on those wasted twenty-five years…

Ferren and the Invaders of Heaven is now available in ebook and print formats from all good online and bricks and mortar stores. Note: there will be some weeks of delay for print stock availability in Australia and New Zealand.
