New Two-Book Deal: The Salt Lines Duology by Nathan Burrage

IFWG is very pleased to announce the acquisition of Sydney-based Nathan Burrage’s two books that comprise The Salt Lines duology. “We were fortunate to sign up Burrage’s short fiction collection a few months ago,” said Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG, “and we are now doubly-fortunate to pick up his historical fantasy manuscripts. This is a testament to his writing prowess, and we are delighted to showcase his skills and talent over the three releases in 2022 and 2023.”

July 1099: sweltering in the merciless heat, the desperate survivors of the First Crusade finally breach the walls of Jerusalem. Concealed within the ranks of Godefroi de Bouillon’s army are members of a secret fraternity called the Salt Lines. Pursuing an artefact that pre-dates even King Solomon, the Salt Lines are willing to sacrifice everything Godefroi values to gain possession of it: the lives of his closest confidants, the only woman he has ever loved, even his very soul.

October 1307: when Bertrand de Châtillon-sur-Seine finally bowed to his family’s will and joined the Brotherhood of the Temple of Solomon, no one expected the brutal suppression of the Order that followed. Thrown into a violent and desperate search for an object known only as ‘the keystone’, Bertrand unwittingly becomes the only person who can safely lay it to rest. But can he resist its temptations whilst eluding the agents of the man who stands behind the French throne?

With the veil of secrecy in tatters, truth has become the most dangerous possession of all.

Nathan Burrage lives in Sydney with his wife and two daughters. He is the author of FIVEFOLD, a supernatural thriller first published by Random House Australia, and subsequently translated into Russian as Code Kabbalah

In 2005, Nathan graduated from Clarion South, an intensive, six-week residential writing program based on the famous workshops of the same name in the US. In 2011, he co-convened the Aurealis Awards in Sydney and remained part of the Organising Committee in 2012 and 2013.

Nathan has over twenty-five short story credits and has been shortlisted for both the Aurealis Awards and the Ditmar Awards. His short story collection—Almost Human—will be released by IFWG in the last quarter of 2022.
