February Release: Silent Sorrow by Russell Kirkpatrick

Silent Sorrow is the first title released in 2021 by IFWG Publishing, and also the first title in IFWG’s ‘Uncaching the Treasures‘ campaign. The campaign recognises that IFWG ‘cached’ most of its 2020 scheduled titles to avoid the worst of COVID’s effects on the industry, and in the period February to June 2021, all will be ‘uncached’. And they are treasures indeed, including Russell Kirkpatrick’s first volume in his The Book of Remezov fantasy series.

A few events have already taken place with respect to Silent Sorrow, including an intriguing podcast interview of Kirkpatrick by Jason Henderson of Castle of Horror, and an insightful blog interview by Maureen Flynn.

Brilliant and ambitious, Remezov is already recognised as the best earthquake predictor in the business. He travels to the ancient city of Hanemark to be received into the powerful Guild of Geographers, the youngest inductee in decades.

On the way he finds a dead scientist’s diary, warning of an imminent invasion. Nonsense, of course—except the diary explains otherwise puzzling occurrences. Does he surrender it to the Guild, risking accusations he killed the scientist and stole the diary—all for an invasion that may never come—or does he keep it and use it to make his name? He has to decide soon, because he’s being hunted by something leaving a trail of mutilated bodies across the city.

The lizards are coming…

Silent Sorrow is now available worldwide through all good bricks and mortar and online stores, print and ebook.
