New Release: The Year of the Fruit Cake by Gillian Polack

The Year Of The Fruit Cake Front Cover With Text

It is with great pleasure that IFWG announces the release of The Year of the Fruit Cake by Gillian Polack in all regions except North America for the print version (16 September 2019 release).

“Polack’s novel is a unique work and attracted us from the get-go,” said Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG. “The novel blends satire and science fiction, and makes strong comments about the human condition, particularly through a feminist lens.”

Humankind is in danger.
The Year of the Fruit Cake tells of the Earth-based life of a mostly-mindwiped alien anthropologist inhabiting a human perimenopausal body instead of her own more rational body with its capacity to change gender. This alien has definitely shaken a great intergalactic empire by sitting in cafés with her new best friends. Chocolate may or may not have played a part. Will humanity survive?
Polack describes her novel as, “Bleak. It’s political. It’s angry. It’s also sarcastic, cynical and funny.”
eBooks are available world-wide through all good online bookstores. Print books are available in all regions except North America, again through all good bricks and mortar and online stores. North America will have the release mid September 2019.
