New Release: To Dream by Louis K Lowy

It is with great pleasure that we announce the release of To Dream, Louis K Lowy‘s first of his Anatomy of a Humachine science fiction series. We have already had the pleasure of publishing his 1950s historical-scifi novel, Die Laughing, and this time Louis has come up with a masterpiece.

Guilt ridden over the death of her 17-year-old son, Jay, scientist Niyati Bopari heads a team that creates a Humachine (human machine) for mega-corporation Ameri-Inc. Niyati dubs the Humachine J-1 and creates it in Jay’s image. She secretly infuses it with Jay’s DNA. J-1 is the most sophisticated robot ever created and its purpose is to replace human labor. Before J-1 and his blueprints can be transported to Ameri-Inc. headquarters a rogue Ameri-Inc. agent attempts to steal them.

Anatomy of a Humachine is a science fiction tour de force spanning two centuries and crossing two planets. Book I: To Dream centers on J-1, an artificial intelligence struggling to find his humanity; the grieving scientist who created him; the ruthless head of the corporation who owns him; and the iron-willed leader of a rebel force seeking revenge for the death of her family and the destruction of her planet.

To Dream is available in Amazon Kindle stores as well hardcover at all good print stores (e.g. Amazon) on January 2 2017. The softcover will be available at the end of January 2017.

New Release: Trials (Book 2 of the Tower series) by Jesse McMinn

Fans have been waiting a long time, and now we are pleased to announce the release of Jesse McMinn‘s second book in his Tower series, Trials. We were bedazzled by this upcoming Canadian author’s world building – an absolutely unique world, coexisting with Earth in present time, but saturated with magic and physical laws defying our own understanding of reality. Jeffery Doherty continues his beautiful artwork from Book 1, Loria, in this latest release.

However, the danger that shadows him is growing as well. A powerful enemy has learned of his existence, and will stop at nothing to track him down. Kyle needs to find a way home, and quickly. But before he can reach his destination, he is captured by the enigmatic Buors, and brought to their forsaken homeland to await the judgement of their king.

All the while, his relentless pursuers are closing in…

Kyle’s greatest trials are just beginning.

New Release: Warriors of the Light by Larry Ivkovic

It is with great pleasure that we announce the release of Larry Ivkovich‘s second instalment to The Spirit Winds Quartet. Warriors of the Light continues the adventures of Kim Yoshima and her companions – an adventure that spans time and many exotic lands.

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00007]

After returning from her time-traveling adventures in 16th Century Japan, Kim Yoshima finds adjusting to her old life isn’t as easy as she thought it would be. Neither is it for her friends, Shioko Yoshima, Jackson Yamaguchi, and Wayne Brewster.

All suffer trauma of varying degrees, struggling to adapt and reconcile the past and present, and what role they now have in the world.

But, all is not well in the multiverse either. Not every mythological creature torn out of time-and-place by the Spirit Winds was sent back to its own realm. Some still exist in our world and hunger to go home.

To do so, they need Kim Yoshima’s esper powers and will strive to harness them any way they can, even if it means Kim’s death.

And if that isn’t enough, an old enemy of Kim’s makes a startling return.

The novel, and its ebook versions, can be found at all good online stores (such as Amazon), as well as direct from the publisher.

News: Release of A Reason To Kill

It is with a great deal of pride that we announce the release of A Reason to Kill, by Geraldine Fitzsimmons – her third novel through IFWG Publishing. Geraldine holds a special place with our company as we are a speculative fiction and children’s book publisher, but in her case we have made an exception – she writes hard-boiled thrillers and suspense novels, more often than not in recent historical settings. They are gritty, authentic in backdrop, and not for the squeamish.

Another sign of our strong relationship with Geraldine is we didn’t balk from this long novel – 636 page worth of it! And while it might be hard to read it end to end in one sitting, we believe that lovers of the genre will do it in very few readings indeed.

full cover A Reason to Kill

“I’m gonna kill you!” is a common response, said as often in jest as in anger. Humans have a lot of reasons to dispose of one another so most of them could well mean it. Political games haven’t changed much since Mankind learned to walk upright. The same tools popular in Greek and Roman cultures are active today, including monetary schemes and sexual ploys used to enhance the power plays. Anything is acceptable, even murder (but don’t get caught) to advance one’s ambition.

Did a psychopath kill Andrea Nelson? In 1984 at the time of the murders a stage was set and the law might have accepted this if it wasn’t for the diaries she left behind. At first, Andrea’s scribbling appears worthless, even her mother claimed she was a habitual liar; so who bothered to send the books to a police captain’s home and for what reason?

Shelia Connors Beechen’s death has been judged an accident. Without a body can the truth be found out? Unbeknownst to them, Andrea Nelson and Shelia Connors have the same biological daddy—a nasty problem as Andrea is having an affair with Shelia’s brother.

We leave 1984 and the murders of the half-sisters; the story drops back to 1976 when Thomas Devlin first met Andrea Neilson. His future was looking grand, he was moving into a position in the powerful Connors’ political group. Already involved with the married Shelia, he finds himself in an uncomfortable situation when Andrea decides to pursue him. Although the women have been close friends since childhood, at this time neither is aware they share the same biological parent.

A Reason to Kill will soon be available through all good online bookstores worldwide, including in ebook format. You can purchase it now direct through our own store by clicking here.

September sees IFWG Publishing/IFWG Publishing Australia making good inroads in their scheduled catalogues of new releases for 2014.

Already you all will know we have published Star Quake 2 (and boy, what a cover it has), Against The Elements (UK version – again, a great cover), and David Sperry’s debut scifi adventure, The Pouakai (why not, another wonderful cover). We are very pleased with our new titles, and look forward to the remainder of the year.

A Word From The Editor

After a lot of scrambling with restructuring and the related activities, we have three new releases for this month:

Esme Carpenter‘s Against The Elements has just been released in a UK Edition, and given the opportunity to improve the cover (stunning in fact – thanks to EL Designs), and some refining, including bringing it back to its intended form of English (UK), we decided to cease the International version. In all seriousness, I believe North American and Antipodean readers will love the story as much in the British idiom. The title is now published under IFWG Publishing Australia’s logo. The original cover design was by Laura Clements, a talented designer who did an excellent job with the cover. We decided to make a new cover for the UK release, which is appropriate when there is this level of change involved, and while the original prominent depiction of the four elements was vivid and attractive, we wanted a depiction of the main protagonist of the story in the new version. In respect to Laura’s great work, we have retained the elemental symbol in 3D form on the rear cover, and she deserves a place on IFWG Publishing Australia’s website as one of our designers.
