Jan Goldie is a keen traveller. She loves to take journeys. While many of her travels have been in the real world, others have stayed between the pages of a book.
Jan lives in Tauranga with two children, a small dog and two budgies. When she’s not building alternate worlds, she’s a freelance writer creating content for websites, print media, social media or copywriting and editing. She has a degree in English literature and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism. Interests include travel, yoga, drawing and reading copious amounts of YA books.
Jan’s first book for YA readers Brave’s Journey won a shortlisting for New Zealand’s Tom Fitzgibbon Award 2014, prior to being picked up by IFWG Publishing Australia.
Several of her short stories have been accepted into anthologies, with the science fiction story Love Hurts (featured in the Shadows Award winning Baby Teeth: bite-sized tales of terror) shortlisted for New Zealand’s Sir Julius Vogel awards.
Jan also has the novella A Mer-tale published in Conclave, a collection of science fiction and fantasy for teens.
