IFWG is very pleased to announce the acquisition of the Ravenshead Trilogy, a middle grade post-apocalyptic/adventure/horror set of books.
“This is particularly pleasing,” said Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of IFWG, “as Ian was one of our first authors when we were a fledgling publishing house, when we published all four books in his Zeke Hailey middle grade science fiction series. He has an amazing imagination, is an incredible writer, and produces stories perfectly suited to his target age group. We very much look forward to doing the same with the Ravenshead Trilogy, and broaden Douglas’ range of genres into dark and spooky, as well as post-apocalyptic settings.”
Ian C Douglas is best known for the award-winning Zeke Hailey sci-fi adventures. He writes short fiction too with many stories published in anthologies and magazines. After a London childhood, Ian taught English language in East Asia before returning to the UK to complete an MA in Creative Writing (Distinction).
He is a cofounder of the Nottingham Writers Studio and subeditor at LeftLion magazine. In 2019, he was guest of honour at Malta’s literary festival. Ian runs creative writing workshops, mentors emerging writers and supports schools with his literacy visits. Today, Ian lives in Robin Hood country with his family.
Matt is an ordinary teenager too young to remember the Great Drowning, the climate catastrophe that transformed England into a superheated archipelago. But on a secret island, he stumbles across a lab full of hybrids: half-human and half-animal teenagers. At the same time, the shadowy Sons of Noah arrive to wipe out the hybrids. Matt has no choice but to help three of the hybrids make a daring escape. Now they face a desperate journey through shark-infested creeks to save their captured friends. But a teenage cyborg assassin is on their heels with orders to kill. And worse environmental dangers block their path, everything from ravenous kid cannibals to the zombielike ‘mushies.’ Slowly, Matt realises that humanity’s future depends upon their mission.
The Ravenshead Trilogy will be globally released in the first quarters of 2026, 2027 and 2028.
