It is with pleasure that we can reveal Michael B Fletcher’s upcoming novel, Shadow Scent, the final book in his Masters of Scent trilogy. The stunning cover work is by Boston-based Sarah Morrison, who is an award-winning artist and great designer.
War threatens as Jakus, a vicious former ruler of Ean, is determined to reclaim that country and neighbouring Rolan. The draw of a crystal found in Rolan that will further increase his scent powers is irresistible. After destroying all opposition in his native Sutan, Jakus forms a mighty war machine and begins his invasion. His forces with their enhanced scent weaponry seem unstoppable.
But standing in his way are the defenders led by Anyar, teenage daughter of a hero of the revolution that overthrew the tyrannical Sutanites, her highly developed foretelling abilities and a cohort of women using a mysterious shadow scent.
As Jakus begins his conquest, a malevolent entity with a hatred for Jakus now existing in the body of one of his commanders has its own agenda to destroy him and take power. The final conflict will test the scent mastery of both sides with the outcome threatening the life of Anyar and her people and their world’s very existence.
Shadow Scent, will be globally released 4 November, 2024 (note: there will be a few months delay in Australia and New Zealand).
